Free Health Screenings for World Health Wellness Week, This Week, April 15-18

World Health Day, celebrated in April each year, commemorates the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) and is an opportunity to focus worldwide attention on a subject of major importance to global health. The theme for 2019 is Universal Health Care, which is about ensuring all people and communities have access to quality health services where and when they need them without suffering financial hardship.

Brenau hosts Wellness Week from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, April 15 through Thursday, April 18 at the Center for Health & Well-Being on the Gainesville campus.

Nurse Practitioner Sarah Davis will be providing health screens at no charge to employees including:

  • pulse
  • oxygen saturation
  • blood pressure
  • weight/height
  • BMI
  • hemoglobin (anemia screening)
  • A1C (diabetes screening)
  • anxiety and depression screening available by Brenau Center for Counseling & Psychological Services

At the end of your screening you will receive a health transcript that lists all of your current screening numbers. Keep this to compare changes in your health between April and November when we have our annual Health and Benefits Expo.

Employees who participate will be awarded with five Activity Points towards Wellness.

If you are unable to attend this event please note you can still get one wellness point if you do your biometric screenings with your physician. Physicals are worth 10 points.
