Dr. Kristine Haertl, professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at St. Catherine University, will present as the first speaker in the Boyt Schell Visiting Scholar Series at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Downtown Center Theatre on the Square.
Haertl will present “The Therapeutic Dance: Creating Healthy Client Practitioner Relationships.” She is active in research related to peer-supported mental health housing models, writing in the development of the self, and the lived experience of autism spectrum disorder. Her research in these areas have lead to legislative changes regarding evidence-based mental health practice in her home state of Minnesota. She is the co-founder and co-chair of Occupational Therapy for the Advancement of Minnesota Mental Health Services and also maintains her own private practice that serves individuals with psychiatric disorders and developmental disabilities.
