At 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, the Northeast Georgia History Center will hold its first Chautauqua event of the year.
The theme of the 2018 Chautauqua season is “Women of the Years,” exploring the stories of three fascinating Georgia women: the American Revolution Loyalist Elizabeth Johnston, founder of the Girl Scouts of America Juliet Gordon Lowe, and Gainesville’s pioneering African American educator Beulah Rucker. These three very different women overcame difficulties both personal and public as they left their marks on family, community, and nation.
Join us Tuesday, June 12, to hear Susan McCranie as Elizabeth Johnston, a Georgia Loyalist during the American War for Independence.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free for members, $5 for nonmembers. We hope you join us as we meet these engaging Georgia Women of the Years!
