Students, Faculty and Staff Enjoy Chinese Tea Party

A sizable crowd of nearly 40 students, faculty and staff gathered in the Writing Center Wednesday afternoon for a Chinese Tea hosted by the humanities department.

Professor Yu “Carol” Lei and Professor Wang Ping from Anhui Normal University gave a presentation about the history, tradition and culture of tea in China, from the planting and growing to picking and brewing.

“We worried a little about the weather,” Lei said. “But when we walked out of our dorm, I found that the rain stopped, the sky turned bright and clear. I think it promises a good future for our cooperation together.”

The event included tea, scones, cookies and other refreshments. Its focus was on deepening the connection between Brenau students and Anhui Normal University students with discussion of Chinese tea culture.
