Dr. Glen Gillen, a national leader in occupational therapy, will speak to Brenau University students, faculty and the public in an annual series at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Downtown Center Theatre on the Square.
Gillen is a professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a recipient of numerous national awards. He lectures extensively on the local, state, national and university level regarding multiple topics related to neurorehabilitation. His presentation next Friday will focus on cognitive and perceptual assessments for occupational based practice.
This is a special year for the annual event, which is now dubbed the Boyt Schell Occupational Science Scholar Series. Upon her retirement last May, Dr. Barb Schell, professor emeritus, established an endowed fund to support this ongoing event.
Wendy Holmes, interim director of the School of Occupational Therapy, said “it is an honor” to host Gillen as the Boyt Schell Occupational Science Scholar for 2017.
The event is free and open to the public, and a reception will follow.
