GTA Repertory Company ‘Oedipus’ Performance Feb. 8

Come to a performance of Oedipus on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater on the Gainesville historic campus. The show is free and open to the public.

Adapted and written by Ellen McLaughlin, the chilling tale of Oedipus is revived for new audiences as the King of Thebes races against time to save his people, discovering the dangers of pride, prophecy and a past that comes back to haunt him. The performance is directed by Elisa Carlson, Gainesville Theatre Alliance resident director and University of North Georgia professor.

Patrons can select their seats online at or by calling the Box Office at 678-717-3624 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Please note discounted tickets to GTA performances are often available to Brenau faculty, staff and students with a valid ID. You may purchase for yourself and your household. Some performance nights are also free for Brenau faculty, staff and students. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office two weeks before opening night of the performance.
