Brenau Student Sommer Stockton Awarded Broadcasting Scholarship

Congratulations to Sommer Lee Stockton for being awarded one of five E. Lanier Finch Scholarships from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. She is a mass communications major and serves as student station manager for Brenau’s campus radio station, 89.1 WBCX. Way to go, Sommer!

WBCX BBC World News fans will still receive daily doses of international happenings late nights from 12-6 a.m.

Monday Jan. 19, 2015 is the Martin Luther King federal holiday, and on that day at 12:05pm 89.1 WBCX will air convocation keynote speaker and Hall county deputy AnMarie Martin’s words at 12:05pm.

Martin spoke Thursday Jan. 15 to Brenau students, faculty, staff and others who attended the school’s annual Martin Luther King convocation held in historic Pearce Auditorium, located on Brenau University’s Gainesville, Ga campus.

Change in Venue for Patriotic Pops Concert

Due to predictions of severe inclement weather, The Arts Council, Inc. and the Northwinds Symphonic Band announce that the July 3, 2013 outdoor Patriotic Pops concert will move inside to Pearce Auditorium, 500 Washington Street South East, on the campus of Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia.

The box-office opens at 7:00PM, doors for general seating will open at 7:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m.  No food or drink is permitted inside the auditorium.  For advance tickets or for more information, please call 770-534-2787.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door prior to the concert.
