Hiring a Pre-Entry Advisor/Clinical Education Program Specialist

The Brenau University Physical Therapy Department has an opening for a Pre-Entry Advisor/Clinical Education Program Specialist.

Position Summary:

The Pre-Entry Advisor/Clinical Education Program Specialist serves as the principal liaison for Brenau pre-physical therapy students and support for clinical education coordination for the Department of Physical Therapy. The Pre-Entry Advisor addresses all first contacts to the program for information and sets up the interview with specific faculty if the student is seeking individual advisement. The Clinical Program Specialist acts as the primary point of contact to multiple clinical sites and instructors in partnership with the clinical education team. The Program Specialist is responsible for processing all clinical experience requests. The Program Specialist will support all clinical education reporting as well as manage information systems in the Department of Physical Therapy including the student and clinical education database E*Value and the development of other databases and/or spreadsheets as needed. The Program Specialist will also collaborate with Brenau College of Health Science clinical education programs including Occupational Therapy and Nursing.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Interacts with all pre-physical therapy students
Establishes the advisement schedule for the faculty in follow-up individual advisement
Works closely with Brenau pre-physical therapy students to assist their success and smooth entry into the DPT program
Will provide oversight for the students who succeed in the direct admission from Brenau pre-physical therapy to the DPT acceptance.
Ensure the inclusion of pre-physical therapy students in all or most available PT activities (guest speakers, events)
Helps to coordinate the pre-physical therapy students’ participation in the physical therapy student organization.
Assist with the planning and execution of community workshops
Attend university recruiting events with admissions as needed.
Manage ongoing relationships with 300-400 clinical sites to assure that appropriate clinical internship requirements are met and that site contact personnel are current and have necessary information.
Execute training affiliation contracts with clinical sites.
Travel to potential clinical sites to initiate contracts
Will conduct ongoing site visits after initial faculty visit to maintain Brenau presence for students and clinical instructors.
Primary resource to student body in matters related to the clinical education process
Organize and monitor incoming student evaluations from clinical instructors and student feedback about clinical education experiences. Enters and aggregates data as assigned. Clinical Placement Instrument (CPI)
Develop and schedule required training for students and faculty such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, CI Training.
Develop new training modules as needed based on clinical site requirements
Develop and maintain web based resources for both students and facilities. Clinical Site Information Form (CSIF)
Maintain all information on E*Value and lead future development of E*Value
Develop and maintain job board for students.
Work closely with Office Manager in supporting day to day operations of the department
Provide flexibility in work hours and locations

Minimum Qualifications:

Advanced College degree preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office, Google application and database skills
Excellent proven customer service and communication skills, both written and oral
Highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
Discrete and professional skills for screening, handling and referral of confidential situations and materials

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Normal environment found in an office and/or educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required

Physical Demands and Aptitudes:

Frequent sitting, upper extremity repetitive keyboard activities, position shifts between sitting and standing and knee-to-shoulder reaching and placing of light materials. Frequent walking for short distances, occasional stair-climbing, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 35 pounds. General sensory capacities must be sufficient to perform routine duties as outlined above, including telephone and computer use. Strong cognitive skills as required for organization and judgment as outlined in duties. Emotional stability with capacity to manage periodic stressful interactions. Excellent attention to detail.

Work Hours:

37.5 hours per week. Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Some weekend work may be required.

Special Requirements:

Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Credit checks may be performed on employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. Due to insurance requirements, employees operating university vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. An MVR may be performed during the hiring process. All employees who operate university vehicles or who are employed in a sensitive position may be subject to post hire drug screening and random drug-screenings. Accounting Office Hiring a Student Loan Disbursement Clerk

The Brenau University Accounting Office has an opening for the student loan disbursement clerk position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for downloading reports for student loan disbursements.
  • Credits student accounts with loan funds by processing Direct Loan Roll.
  • Issues refunds for student loan funds.
  • Responsible for issuing and payment of book vouchers.
  • Discusses student account information with students.
  • Financial Aid Roll-over
  • Write up check request for state aid
  • Posting of state aid
  • R2T4 adjustments
