Call for Contributions for Dominican Republic Display in Library

The library is curating a display on the Dominican Republic to tie into this year’s First Year Experience reading In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, which is set in the Dominican Republic.

We are asking for textiles or artifacts from the Dominican Republic to include with the display that will be up through the fall semester. Any items will be locked in a glass case so they will be protected. We have also utilized a dress form in the past to accompany a display if anyone has any clothing that would tie into the theme.

Please email Dianne Honan at ude.uanerb@1nanohd by the end of May with any possible contributions or questions.

Trustee Library Selling T-Shirts

Trustee Library T-shirt image, front. The Trustee Library is celebrating its 30th birthday this fall, and in true Brenau fashion, there’s a t-shirt for that!

The library is collaborating with Ashley Jou, a Women’s College Junior and the campus representative for University Tees, on the design and order. The shirt design was inspired by an original sketch of the library used as part of the fundraising campaign to construct the building in the late-1980’s. Brenau Trustees largely funded that campaign and thus the Trustee Library was born!

Trustee Library T-Shirt back linkThe shirt is a Gildan brand uni-sex, light grey t-shirt with the image in shades of navy and will sell for $12.15 each. We would be delighted if you would join us in purchasing a shirt. If you’re interested, please send Dianne Honan your size(s) at ude.uanerb@1nanohd by Wednesday, Oct. 3. Checks can be made out to Brenau University or you can bring exact change to the library for payment. We will deliver shirts to offices on campus upon arrival.
