The Graham Arader Arts & Sciences Collaborative opening reception will be from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Thurmond-McRae Lecture Hall and Trustee Library.
This event will provide students and the community with meaningful connections between artistic works and scientific exploration. It will include a presentation of an extensive collection of botanical and aquatic prints and watercolors as well as an exciting and informative lecture from associate professor Claudia Wilburn on the history of naturalist prints that have recently been acquired by the university. Additionally, details will be provided on the current integration of these pieces into the undergraduate curriculum.
Following the lecture, guests will be invited to a reception where prints and other rare publications will be made available for the public to view. These include Brenau’s extraordinary complete collection of the Abbeville Press double elephant folio of Audubon’s Birds of America and notable selections from Brenau’s collection of Audubon Amsterdam prints.
