Health Insurance and Benefits Open Enrollment, Nov. 8-26

Open enrollment for 2019 benefits starts today and runs through Nov. 26.

During open enrollment you can add or opt out of health plan coverage, choose new plan options, enroll eligible family members in your plans, or add, drop or change the level of your insurance coverage.

Please review your options and costs carefully. You can make any changes you like at home or at work until the end of the enrollment period on Nov. 26, 2018.

Once the enrollment period has ended your choices will be final until the next enrollment period or until you have a qualifying life event.

Benefit Summaries:


Health Savings Accounts (HSA):

This benefit will not automatically renew, you must actively enroll for 2019. If you are currently enrolled in the HSA plan with Cigna and you wish to continue for 2019, you will need to re-enroll. Brenau’s Contribution to your HSA: Individual: $600/ Family: $1200.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA):

This benefit will not automatically renew, you must actively enroll for 2019. If you are currently enrolled in the flexible spending plan with Admin America and you wish to continue for 2019, please keep your debit cards as they will be used for the upcoming plan year as well.

Life Insurance:

During open enrollment, current employees may elect to increase voluntary life insurance by $20,000 (in increments of $10,000). Anything requested over $20,000 will be subject to EOI by completing an additional medical questionnaire. For example, if you currently have $10,000 of voluntary life insurance, you may increase up to $20,000 or $30,000. Anything above that would need to be approved through the EOI process.

Wellness Program:

Brenau’s Wellness Program, funded by Cigna, is designed to support healthy behavior in the workplace and to improve health outcomes. The program includes activities during the year which relate to being “healthy,” whether it be physical, mental, financial, social, or emotional health. Employees receive points and/or cash rewards for each activity in which they participate. Points are added to the Activity Tracker, maintained by HR. At the end of the calendar year, names will be drawn from those who have accumulated Activity Tracker points; the more points you accumulate, the greater chance you have of winning cash prizes. In 2019 we are adding an Incentive Program. Motivate-Me is a new wellness initiative provided through our Cigna insurance. For certain activities for which members participate, gift cards are provided. Employees must be a Brenau Cigna Member to collect Cigna Rewards. Maximum award is $200 per employee, per year.
