Welcome to a new school year from the Trustee Library! We want to let you know about some exciting updates.
Our new graduate instruction librarian, Emily Thornton, will arrive next week. In addition to teaching graduate level information literacy classes, Professor Thornton will also be our Norcross campus librarian. She will be there multiple times a week and will be available for research consultation for our Norcross students.
The historic Gainesville campus will be infected with zombies soon! Next week begins our First Year Experience information literacy courses. Students will end each class with playing “Zombies in the Library” and employing library research skills to escape the zombie horde. Zombies, NERF guns and FYE students will be zipping through the library stacks every Monday and Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. beginning on Sept. 5.
This semester you’ll see an increase in librarian availability for instruction and research help. We’ve spent the summer prepping research tools and instruction, ordering and processing new materials, streamlining workflows, and even planning some fun activities. To request instruction or book a research appointment, please visit our website at https://library.brenau.edu/. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to keep up with all the action.
We will be closed for the Labor Day holiday weekend from Friday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 7:45 a.m. Our hours for the semester are Monday – Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 1–10 p.m.
