Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Saturday, May 12

Brenau University is a proud co-sponsor of the Chatahoochee Riverkeeper’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival from 5:30-9:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 12, at the Brenau Downtown Center in Gainesville.

Join us to witness environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet and the work communities around the world are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic will inform you about the state of the world and inspire you to take action.

The Environmental Expo will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Local groups and organizations including Hall County Master Gardeners, Georgia Forest Watch, and Northeast Georgia Locally Grown, will be showcasing their current projects and successes. This is also your chance to check out the raffle items and buy tickets. Prizes include a kayak from Outside World Outfitters, a north Georgia cabin trip, boat rentals and more.

From 7-9:30 p.m. the carefully curated selection of environmental and adventure films will be presented. The festival is a natural extension of CRK’s efforts to encourage people to act on behalf of the environment. Funds raised through this event will be used to help expand the Headwaters’ Neighborhood Water Watch program. The NWW program helps increase public awareness of water quality in neighborhood streams and provides tools and training for neighborhood groups, schools and others to monitor and protect their local waterways.

All advance (online) ticket sales will be entered for a chance to win two tickets to the Lake Lanier Sunset Cruise event on the Chota Princess II.
