University-wide Competitive Food Drive

Georgia Mountain Food Bank LogoBrenau’s Staff Development Committee will be holding a food drive competition from Monday, March 5, through Friday, March 8, leading up to our Community Service Day at the Georgia Mountain Food Bank on Friday, March 9.

We will have small group (eight or fewer people) and large group (more than eight people) categories, so sign up by department, sorority, organization or create your own team. Let’s see who can collect the most food for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank!

Team registration will be open from Thursday, Feb. 22, through Tuesday, March 6.

Teams will receive points based on their contributions. Most food item donations will receive one point each. Any donations of items on the Georgia Mountain Food Banks’ most needed list will receive two points each, and each package of ramen noodles will cost the team one point.

Most Needed Food Items

  • Canned fruit (no sugar added)
  • Oatmeal (low sugar)
  • Cereal (low sugar)
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly (low sugar)
  • Canned meat [chicken, tuna, roast beef]
  • Canned meals [i.e. Chef Boyardee]
  • Pasta (wholegrain preferred)
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Canned vegetables (low sodium)
  • Beans
  • Rice
