A sliver of the sun can be seen during the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21. (AJ Reynolds/Brenau University)

There was a good turnout of students, faculty, staff and friends of Brenau on the Owens front lawn today at 2:15 p.m. to view the solar eclipse.

The moon covered about 99.5 percent of the sun at the peak of the eclipse, which occurred at about 2:37 p.m.
