Sophomore Gloria Clark named Miss Brenau Ideal 2017

Sophomore Gloria Clark of Decatur, Georgia, was named Miss Brenau Ideal 2017 during a banquet Friday, Feb. 10, at the Brenau Downtown Center.

Families, friends, judges and others were on hand as Clark, who received the highest cumulative points in all three areas of the competition among the 14 participants, took home the top honor that includes a $3,000 scholarship.

Clark also won a $1,000 scholarship for the Best Oratory Presentation. Her oratory presentation was in response to the questions, “Who do you most admire? In what ways does this person inspire you?”

Daniela Santiago, a freshman from Suwanee, Georgia, won a $1,000 scholarship for Best Essay. Her essay was in response to the question, “How have your Brenau experiences prepared you to facilitate conversations and defuse confrontations?”

Alyssa Eblen, a freshman from Dacula, Georgia, won a $1,000 scholarship for Best Community Service Display. Her display included the completion of 10-plus hours of service and a video/digital display highlighting the community service in which she participated.
