Dr. Glen Gillen, professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, will present as the first speaker in the Boyt Schell Visiting Scholar Series on Friday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. at the Downtown Center Theatre on the Square.
Gillen will discuss “Integrating Performance Based Cognitive and Perceptual Assessments to Promote Occupation Based Practice.” He is best known for his textbooks Stroke Rehabilitation: A Function-Based Approach, now in its fourth edition, and Cognitive and Perceptual Rehabilitation: Optimizing Function. He recently co-edited the 12th edition of Willard & Spackman’s Occupational Therapy with Barb Schell. Gillen has published more than 100 works, including chapters, books and peer-reviewed pieces.
The presentation is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception.
