Assessment Day 2017 Wednesday, Feb. 15

Wednesday, Feb. 15 is the annual Assessment Day for Women’s College/Gainesville Day undergraduate students. This event allows us to bring students together in their majors with their professors for various evaluations and activities which help us explore factors impacting student success and make improvements to our programs. On alternating years we also administer an exit assessment to our graduating seniors to study the “value-added” by their time at Brenau.

This year, in recognition of the internationalization efforts of our Strategic Plan, the common activity centers around the concepts of cultural awareness and inter-cultural communication. Students will be led through activities of self-reflection and dialog about their own cultural biases.

The following announcement has been published to students and we ask faculty and staff to be aware that students may come to you with questions about the day’s activities. We will post meeting times/locations and push these details out to students, and will ensure that all academic department office managers have copies of the day’s schedule. This is a reminder to Women’s College and Gainesville Day undergraduate students to mark your calendars for Assessment Day, Feb. 15, from 8:45 a.m. – 2 p.m. As designated in the university catalog, classes are cancelled during this time, but your presence at your major department’s Assessment Day activities is mandatory. Graduating seniors should also look for more details in the coming week concerning mandatory senior testing which, for most departments, will occur during Assessment Day. Please plan ahead by making arrangements with employers and childcare providers as you would for any required class. Details including meeting locations forthcoming.
