Planning on doing research this year? Does it involve human subjects? Then you need to make sure you get approval from Brenau’s Institutional Review Board.
Brenau is transitioning to the use of IRBNet for research protocol submissions and we will be having additional training sessions this October to walk you through the new submission process. Protocol application submissions will be accepted either through IRBNet or through the old process of submitting a complete PDF application to email@example.com for the September and October IRB reviews, but all submissions must be made through IRBNet as of Oct. 15 for the Nov. 17 review session.
Kelly Peters, Brenau’s IRBNet Administrator, will help walk you through the following:
- How to determine if your study requires IRB approval and what type of review to apply for
- Making sure you submit a complete protocol application
- CITI Certification Requirements
- Submitting your protocol application on IRBNet
- Submitting revisions and receiving approval to begin your research
These sessions will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 13, and Friday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. in Redwine 106.
An IRBNet training session will also be offered in Norcross, but the date for this has not yet been finalized.
If you are planning on submitting a protocol for the October IRB review, bring your application with you to the session and Kelly will walk you through submitting it on IRBNet before you leave.
Please email Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know if you will be attending one of the sessions. RSVPs are not required to attend, but we would like to get a head count of how many will be there to make sure we have enough handouts.
