As part of the New Gainesville Chautaugua Becoming America series, associate artist Chiara Richardson will portray Harriet Tubman at a special Northeast Georgia History Center presentation on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Set in 1870, the performance focuses on Tubman as she reflects on being a slave, abolitionist, Civil War scout and conductor on the Underground Railroad network while looking ahead to the next major cause of her lifetime, women’s suffrage.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Northeast Georgia History Center. Tickets are $5.
