The Northeast Georgia History Center’s Becoming America series continues Tuesday, July 12, with Times in Which a Genuis Would Wish to Live, featuring Colonial Williamsburg’s Abigail Schumann portraying Abigail Adams.
The performance, part of the inaugural New Gainesville Chautauqua season, will focus on the waning months of 1800 when Abigail Adams learned the results of the Presidential election – often referred to as the ‘Revolution of 1800’, in which her husband John was defeated by Thomas Jefferson – and reflects on affairs both public and private she witnessed during the United States’ founding generation.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Northeast Georgia History Center’s ampitheatre.
Admission is free for History Center members and $3 for non-members. For more information, call 770-297-5900 or visit http://www.negahc.org/.
