Brenau employees gathered at Pearce Auditorium May 12 for a special ceremony recognizing staff and faculty for reaching career milestones this past academic year.
President Ed Schrader pointed out that the list of those with five years of service to Brenau was about half as long as those with 10 years and more. That is significant, he said, because “Brenau has a history of being a good place to work for a long time.”
Associate Professor of French and grants writer Beth Nott can testify to Schrader’s proclamation. She was honored at the ceremony for 45 years of service to the university. “The staff and faculty here have all been great,” she said, “and that, I suppose, is what has kept me here for this long.”
Those commended for 20 years of service to Brenau were Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy Irma Alvarado; Mass Communication Department Chair and Professor Stewart Blakley; Assistant Professor of English Sandy Brim; Gainesville campus security officer Eddie Harwell; Professor of Art & Design Mary Beth Looney; and Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy Robin Underwood.
Employees celebrated for 15 years were Interlibrary Loan and Reserves Specialist Amanda Roper and Executive Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff Jody Wall.
