Tears were shed, memories were made and hundreds of futures officially began May 6 and 7 at the Gainesville campus as Brenau celebrated its Spring 2016 graduation ceremonies.
About 400 students – from those earning associate degrees to those receiving doctorates – walked across the stage over the weekend to pick up their hard-earned diplomas. Retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Annie B. Andrews served as the commencement speaker for both the 137th Women’s College commencement on Friday and the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies on Saturday.
“Now you are entering into that part of life where your destiny is up to you,” she told the Class of 2016. “Successful people understand the old adage that ‘If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me.’”
