Brenau Chair and Professor of Interior Design Lynn M. Jones (ASID, IDEC, LEED AP) has been named the recipient of the American Society of Interior Designers’ National Educator Medalist Award.

“The national committee noted her nomination to be one of the strongest ever submitted,” said Jan Gillespie DeLong, Past President of the ASID Georgia Chapter.

The award recognizes Jones for her significant contributions to interior design education. Some of her notable efforts over the years include working with the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, expanding the postgraduate interior design program at Brenau and publishing the textbook Beginnings of Interior Environments.

“I am thrilled and humbled by this recognition,” Jones said. “I have been given many opportunities to create interiors that improve people’s lives and to provide quality education for aspiring designers. Brenau and my colleagues in ASID and Interior Design Educators Council are a special part of those experiences. In particular though, I wish to thank Sandy McGowen, FASID, for her continuous support and initiation of this nomination.”

Jones will be recognized at the ASID Georgia Chapter Gala at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta May 14. She will be presented the award at the National ASID meeting in Minneapolis in July.
