The Beulah Rucker Museum and the Northeast Georgia History Center present Beulah Rucker Oliver: My Life~My Time~My School Sunday, April 24, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. at the Brenau University Downtown Center.
This one-woman play brings living history to the stage, putting a spotlight on the life of one Gainesville’s greatest educators. Oliver was a teacher who instructed African-American students in Gainesville/Hall County from 1914 through 1958. The play, which details Oliver’s experiences in the local community and the building of The Industrial School, features Georgia-born “artivist” Chiara Richardson and is directed by Ken Johnston.
