Victory Garden Kickoff Planned April 6

The Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University will host a Victory Garden kickoff event Wednesday, April 6, at 11 a.m.

During the kickoff, the season’s first seeds will be planted. Two Gainesville residents – Bill Vance, a World War II veteran, and Dee Ridley, a 100-year-old gardener – will also be recognized. Light refreshments, including lemonade and cookies, will be provided for attendees.

The Victory Garden is located on Academy Street, across from the John S. Burd Center and next door to the Northeast Georgia History Museum. For more information, visit http://www.negahc.org/pages/62/victory-garden.
