The state senate adopted a resolution March 11 commending Brenau’s Department of Physical Therapy for both its commitment to students and the residents of Northeast Georgia as a whole.
Brenau’s first physical therapy cohort, consisting of about 40 students, began classes last year. Another 40 students are set to begin classes as part of the department’s second cohort in the three-year doctoral program this May.
The resolution was co-sponsored by five state lawmakers, including District 49 Sen. Butch Miller (R-Gainesville). “Brenau University in general and the Department of Physical Therapy in particular are addressing critical needs in our society,” he said. “This program improves the quality of life throughout Northeast Georgia, for people of all ages.”
