There will be free and confidential HIV testing for faculty, staff and students at the Center for Health & Well-Being Feb. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Two registered nurses from the Hall County Health Department will perform all the tests and handle all the results. Brenau staff will not have access to anyone’s paperwork other than their own.
HIV rates are once again on the rise in the local community, said Brenau Nurse Practitioner Sheryl Olson. A large percentage of the population is at-risk, she said, and many may be HIV-positive and not be aware of it.
All testing is by appointment only. There is a sign-up sheet in the health clinic and you may also reserve a time by calling (770) 534-6135.
