Communication with Validation Workshop Set for Feb. 6

Naomi Feil, a renowned expert in the field of working with the cognitively impaired, will present a workshop Saturday, Feb. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Theatre on the Square in the Brenau University Downtown Center.

Feil is best known as the founder of the Validation Therapy method, a way of communicating with¬†individuals with Alzehimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The free workshop, sponsored by Brenau’s Applied Gerontology program, will¬†demonstrate techniques for family members, health care professionals and other caregivers to improve interactions with their loved ones and patients.
