The Hall County Historical Society’s annual Christmas on Green Street is a go for this Sunday, Dec. 6.
The holiday festival is scheduled from 4:45 to 7:15 p.m., beginning with an antique car procession. The Gainesville Rotary Club’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is slated for 7 p.m.
During the event, the houses on Green Street will be festively decorated and the sidewalks will be adorned with luminaries crafted by the North Hall Middle School Beta Club and a local Boy Scout troop. The Quinlan Art Center will host a children’s crafts party and the Gainesville Newcomers Club – clad in Victorian-era costumes – will give attendees an oral history on some of Gainesville’s most storied homes.
Other attractions include magicians, face painting, balloon artists a miniature train ride and – of course – an appearance from Kris Kringle himself.
To accommodate the festivities, Green Street will be closed from 3:45 to 7:30 p.m.
