‘Nightingale Rose’ performs Nov. 13-16

The Nightingale Rose, or The Bitch of Balaclava, is opening this Friday, Nov. 13, at the University of North Georgia’s Ed Cabell Theatre.

The play, penned by Atlanta’s Patricia Henritze, focuses on Florence Nightingale’s struggle to pioneer new nursing techniques amidst the backdrop of a devastating war and rampant workforce discrimination against women.

Nightingale will be portrayed by Brenau theatre major Anna Vera Styron. Other Brenau students and faculty participating in the upcoming production include Avery Bowne, Alyssa Burton, Ann Demling, Madison Granito and Bryan Montemayor.

The production will run through Nov. 16, with each performance beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The venue is at 3820 Mundy Mill Road in Oakwood, Georgia. Admission is free.
