Brenau Hosts Screening Party for Dare Stones TV Special

Staff, faculty and students are all invited to attend a special Thurmond McRae Lecture Hall Screening of Roanoke: Search for the Lost Colony on Monday, Oct. 26.

The History Channel presentation will run from 9 to 11 p.m. The program revolves around Brenau University’s famous Dare Stones, which many believe hold the key to uncovering the circumstances behind the mysterious disappearance English settlers off the coast of what is today North Carolina in the late 16th century.

The special was produced by northeast Georgia local Brandon McCormick and includes several scenes shot on location at Brenau’s historic Gainesville campus earlier this summer.

Refreshments will be provided during the screening. For more information on the Dare Stones — and their connections to Brenau — check out this Brenau Window article: http://window.brenau.edu/articles/dare-stones
