School of Occupational Therapy Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and assistant professor Dr. Jenene Craig was voted onto the National Perinatal Association Board of Directors earlier this month.

Craig, who specializes in neonatal intensive care, has practiced OT since 1982. She is the only occupational therapist to sit on the board, which largely consists of neonatologists.

The multidisciplinary organization supports prenatal and postnatal education and research.

“In terms of initiative or programs that I will be promoting, I will most certainly be interested in opportunities that elevate the standards of care within the NICU,” Craig said, “starting at antepartum and delivery and extending out through post NICU discharge.”

Craig also has two articles appearing in the Journal of Perinatology later this year. “Recommendations for Family-Centered Development Care” and “Recommendations for NICU Discharge and Beyond” will be published in December.
