The Whalen Auditorium in Brenau’s East Campus was the site of the School of Nursing’s first ever “White Coat” ceremony on Aug. 27.
The event is meant to honor the school’s clinical adjunct faculty. The honorees received handshakes and certificates from School of Nursing Director Dina Hewett after being fitted with new lab coats emblazoned with an official Brenau University nursing faculty badge.
“It is vital that our clinical adjuncts appreciate the critical role they play in our nursing students’ education,” said Dr. Gale Starich, dean of the College of Health Sciences and the Sidney O. Smith, Jr. Graduate School. “This is our way of welcoming our new clinical nursing faculty and to encourage them to take part in all School of Nursing events.”
