The John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts turns into a “school of rock” now through Friday, June 19, for Camp Jam, a summer music collaboration for musicians ages 11 to 17. Split into two weekly sessions of nearly 40 students each week, campers and staff are housed in Yonah Hall and enjoy meals with Brenau Dining. Participants form a band, learn recording skills and perform in addition to all the joys a summer camp experience may offer.
Dancers are also on campus through June 19 studying with the Gainesville Ballet Company’s Summer Intensive at the Brenau Fitness Center dance studios. Several college-aged dancers are staying at the Parklane Apartments during this program. Most guests from both groups leave campus for the weekend.
The Brenau summer camp coordinator headquarters is located at the Burd Center ticket office. Please direct any wandering parents to the Burd Center, call the camp office at 770-531-3185, or contact Danielle Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org and 770-297-5456 with any questions.
