10712949_10153188245309829_6547899738835703129_nSeven local venues, including Brenau Galleries, will be joining forces Saturday, May 30, for a special day full of interactive experiences for the whole family. Start at any of the participating attractions: the Beulah Rucker Museum, Brenau University Art Galleries, Elachee Nature Science Center, Historic Piedmont Hotel, Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, the Northeast Georgia History Center or the Quinlan Visual Arts Center. It will be a full day of arts and crafts, music, reenactments, hands-on activities and a gnome hunt. There will be prizes like the chance to win a week of Summer Art Camp from the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, Splash Zone tickets for a family of four, and an annual family pass to INK.

Earn an instant degree in arts and crafts with the handy helpers from Brenau Galleries who will help kids learn how to create art from clay. Art activities will take place on the front lawn of Brenau’s Gainesville historic campus in front of the Simmons Visual Arts Center/Sellars Art Gallery from 12 – 4 p.m. In case of rain, activities will move inside the Simmons Visual Arts Center in the ceramics studio on the ground level. When the little artists are finished creating masterpieces, be sure to check out “The President’s Summer Art Series” exhibition in the Sellars Art Gallery. The exhibition is free and open 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
