Please encourage your students to take advantage of the free advice about their career paths, resumes, interviewing skills, attire, networking and more during Professional Development Week March 30-April 1 hosted by the College of Business & Mass Communication, the College of Art & Design and the Office of Career Services.
The week begins with a panel discussion on getting and keeping a job, with a focus on young women’s issues on March 30 from 12:30-2 p.m.in Thurmond McRae Lecture Hall on the Gainesville historic campus. The panel consists of Leadership Consultant Diane M. Fennig, from the Human Capital Group, Educational Consultant and Behavior Specialist Joanne S. Nelson, alumna Patricia (P.J.) Lott, a manager at Kohl’s, alumna Connie Davis, an etiquette consultant and educational specialist, Director of Career Services George Bagel, and Dean of Students Valerie Simmons-Walston.
The etiquette dinner, facilitated by Connie Davis Tuesday, will be March 31 at 6 p.m. at the Brenau Downtown Center.
Students can meet with potential employers and find out about internship opportunities in Gainesville and the surrounding areas at the career and internship fair at the Brenau Downtown Center on April 1 from 3-6 p.m.
