The Dementia Workshop will be held at the Brenau Downtown Center Theatre in Gainesville on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s guest speaker is Teepa Snow, one of America’s leading educators on dementia. A Registered Occupational Therapist for over 30 years, her wealth of experience has led her to develop Positive Approach to Care techniques and training models that are used by families and professionals working or living with dementia or other brain changes throughout the world. Faculty and students attending from Brenau Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, and Gerontology programs are registered to attend the workshop. This event is recommended for caregivers, family member of persons with dementia, staff from Legacy Link Area Agency on Aging, long term care facilities, memory care facilities, support groups and other community organizations.
