The College of Health Sciences and the School of Occupational Therapy are offering a one-day workshop on the care and services for individuals with dementia. This workshop is open to Brenau students and faculty as well as community members, caregivers and service providers. The workshop will feature Teepa Snow, an occupational therapist currently working as a dementia care and dementia education specialist. She holds clinical appointments with Duke University’s School of Nursing and UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine. The workshop will help participants learn about effective strategies for helping people with dementia during interactions, care delivery and daily activities.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Whalen Auditorium at the East Brenau Campus. There is no cost to attend the workshop. There is a $15 charge for lunch if chosen. Registration is required
