Music Students Hit the High Notes

Brenau’s Department of Music successfully participated in two competitions this month. A competition held at Georgia State University Nov. 7-8  included hundreds of competitors from schools throughout the state of Georgia. Brenau sophomore Shelby Cody placed third in the Georgia Division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition.

In addition, on Nov. 15, the coeducational, professional music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon held its annual Atlanta Chapter competition. Dannin Duncan and Jie Pan tied for first place; Shelby Cody was third-place winner; and Chantal Russell and Rachel McFarland received honorable mention. The competition took place at Clayton State University and included students from Brenau, Reinhardt, Clayton State and Columbus State.
