The Brenau Association of Nursing Students was honored at the Georgia Association of Nursing Students Convention Oct. 23-25 at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City. BANS took the “Chapter of the Year” award for 2014 in recognition for the students’ hard work in their communities.
In addition to Chapter of the Year, BANS members racked up further accolades when Kelly Allen was awarded the Dr. Virginia Harmeyer Scholarship award for an essay she wrote about leadership and community involvement in health care, and four of the BANS members were elected as GANS officers and board members. Charnella Rosas, previously the GANS North District Director, was elected first vice president. Christine Esquivel, previously GANS secretary, is now the GANS second vice president. Kelly Allen is the GANS public relations director, and Daneille Phagan was awarded the role of GANS nominations and elections committee director for North Georgia.
The Brenau School of Nursing is extremely proud of BANS hard work. Their leadership and community involvement has been extremely appreciated and now recognized. Thank you to BANS President Kelley Magnimelli, faculty advisers and all of the BANS leaders and members.
