How do you say “Welcome to Brenau University” in Mandarin? Ask Jordan Anderson, the new director of programs and services for Brenau’s scores of international students. How about Spanish? How do you say “Welcome to Brenau” in Spanish? Same answer: Ask Jordan.
In fact, if you want to know about Japanese or German, she’s a good source on those languages, too, although she says she’s really just starting to learn them. That’s not even counting her native Alabamian, in which she also remains fluent.
Brenau nabbed Anderson from Kent State University where she served since 2011 as the international student and scholar adviser. In her first day on the job at Brenau last week, however, she blew the socks off her boss, Vice President for Students Services Amanda Lammers, who overheard Anderson conversing with one of our Chinese students … in Chinese!
“We are really lucky to have someone with Jordan’s talent and skills,” said Lammers. “She is exactly the kind of person we need in that international role.”
