The Merit program, implemented by Brenau University’s Office of Communications & Publications in 2012 as an upgrade to the hometown news release program, allows the university to create and publish personalized stories about student achievements, such as an initiation, academic award or participation in an event. Faculty and staff achievements may also be featured.
Once a person has been granted an achievement, they can customize their online profile with a photo, activities, work experience, awards and affiliations. Merit makes it easy to share these achievements with family and friends on social media. Consider it a virtual résumé.
OC&P staff requires a completed spreadsheet of key data fields to generate releases for Merit. To get a spreadsheet, download the Hometown Merit News Template or contact Danielle Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
