The Village That Lived On Brenau’s Future Athletics Park Oct. 14

Hear the great stories of one of the MilliKids, Vic Wilson, a retired Hall County public school teacher and Brenau alumnus who grew up in New Holland on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 7 p.m. at the Northeast Georgia History Center in Gainesville. The MilliKids were the recipients of a fantastic childhood made possible by a northern aristocrat and southern gentleman who dreamed of bringing the South together in a small North Georgia village called New Holland. The site is now the future home Brenau University’s Ernest Ledford Grindle Athletics Park. These two men put people to work, built homes, churches and a school, and provided opportunities for recreation and entertainment.

Admission is free for members and $3 for non-members. Wilson’s books, MilliKids: It Took a Mill to Raise a Village and MilliMoms: Treasures of New Holland are available for purchase in the museum shop. For more information visit http://www.negahc.org/ or call 770-297-5900.
