Brenau fashion design and theater students will have the opportunity to meet alumna and Golden Tiger athlete Antonina (Grib) Lerch, who has worked in costuming for various films and television shows including Night at the Museum, Mad Men and Trueblood, in the Fashion Lab of the John S. Burd Center on Oct. 3 from 1-4 p.m. She will discuss her role as a professional cutter/fitter and answer questions for aspiring costume and fashion designers.
It so happens that Lerch will be on campus to be inducted into the Brenau University Athletics Hall of Fame. She was a Golden Tigers tennis player from 2000-02, a three-time NAIA All-American selection and a member of both the 2000 and 2001 teams that were NAIA national runners-up and the 2002 National Championship team. In 2001 and 2002, Grib was named the Marvin P. Richmond Outstanding Player. She will be one of four alumna to be officially recognized during the Athetics Hall of Fame ceremony on Oct. 4 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Brenau Downtown Center in Gainesville. Tickets for the open-to-the-public event are $20 each. To purchase tickets, people can call 770-534-4323 or email email@example.com.
Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Lerch currently splits her time between Tokyo and Los Angeles. After graduating from Brenau in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising, she earned an M.F.A. from the University of Georgia.
