This summer at the Northeast Georgia History Center, children can enroll in an interactive camp experience, If You Had Lived During the Civil War: The Blue and the Grey Through the Eyes of Those on the Northeast Georgia Home Front.
The summer camps are offered in two sessions, June 16-20 and June 23-27, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. The curriculum is designed for rising 4th through 8th graders. In recognition of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, campers will be immersed in the culture of the Northeast Georgia home front during the Civil War years. Each week’s schedule includes numerous hands-on learning experiences and travel to local historic Civil War-related sites. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per week, and the sessions are filling quickly. Camp fee is $65 for members’ children or grandchildren and $75 for non-members’ children or grandchildren. A sibling discount is available.
