Condolences to former Brenau Academy “Master teacher” Debby Prince Kroll and family on the death of her mother Patricia Ann Jewell Prince, who died at her home on Sunday, May 4, after a long battle with cancer. She was 84.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Little and Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Duncan Bridge Road (Highway 384) in Sautee, Georgia. Interment will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville.
Patricia Jewell Prince attended Brenau College before earning a degree in drama in 1951 from the University of North Carolina. She was the daughter of poultry pioneer Jesse Jewell and his wife, Anna Lou. Mrs. Prince was active in a number of community organizations including the Junior League. However, for the past 50 years her life has been dedicated to Christian ministry and service. For many years she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, adjacent to the Brenau campus, but she and her husband, Jack, became founding members of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Sautee, Georgia.
In addition to her husband and daughter Debby, her survivors include daughter Becky Burnette; son Jesse Prince; sister Jay W. MacIntosh; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
