The Gainesville Theatre Alliance production of Jane Austen’s Sense & Sensibility, a story of two sisters’ opposite approaches to love and the reigning in of passions, opens Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of North Georgia-Gainesville’s Ed Cabell Theatre, located at 3820 Mundy Mill Road, Oakwood.
The heart and the head collide in this captivating tale of love, loss and duty. Special events include a preview performance April 7 at 7:30 p.m., with tickets discounted to $8, a free opening night reception catered by Scott’s Downtown after the opening night performance on April 8, and a pre-show lecture by UNG English professor and Austen scholar Donna Gessell at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19.
Ticket prices are $18-$20 for adults, $16-$18 for seniors and $12-$14 for students and children.
