It is carnival season and all are invited to a Fat Tuesday celebration on Tuesday, March 4, from 5-6 p.m. in the Yonah Hall Lobby at 206 Boulevard in Gainesville. This Mardi Gras event is now in its third year. Admission is free and open to all ages. Please download the Mardi Gras 2014 (PDF) flyer for details.
The fête is open to all students, the Brenau community and to all friends of Brenau (especially Francophones and Francophiles). Enjoy a brief presentation on the history of Shrove Tuesday and carnival along with some music. Then partake in a delicious treat as we cut into the Kings’ Cake (galette des rois). The lucky soul who bites into the “baby” will be ceremoniously crowned Queen or King of the party and awarded a lagniappe (a small gift). After the crowning comes the masquerade contest. Bring your own mask or wear one that will be provided.
Any food or drink brought is appreciated but not expected.
