As of Jan. 1, the Department of Special Events will be broken into two distinct, but cooperative, areas — University Events and Event Services. Both areas will still fall under the Office of Alumni & Events.
Event Services will work with all external clients who wish to rent space on any portion of Brenau’s Gainesville property (main campus, East, & Downtown). Vicki Wineland will be Assistant Director of Event Services, and Jeannie Ledford will be Event Services Coordinator. With more and more classes utilizing the once rentable space at the Downtown Center, this shift will allow Vicki and her team to better serve external clientele with extensive space offerings beyond the Downtown Center.
Tami Lee will now serve as the Director of University Events, and her main responsibility will be event planning and execution for signature events for Brenau alumni, donors and friends. The majority of these events will stem from External Relations and/or the President’s Office (for example, the Brenau BBQ Championship, Homecoming, Alumnae Reunion Weekend, Summer Concert Series, Galas & Capital Campaign events, etc.) At this time, Tami will also continue her role as the primary coordinator of external summer camps.
